Key Focus Areas
The Foundation has applied an integrated system of development since 2007 by working on several key focus areas and initiatives that focus on:

Establishing Excellence Centers: in university and public hospitals in Egypt by developing the infrastructure of such medical and educational facilities and supplying the required medical equipment. WOTE follows a systematic and institutional approach for development and focuses in its projects and initiatives on paying attention to all aspects of medical services, which is reflected to millions of patients in the long-term. Such approach proved the possibility to introduce a positive and tangible impact, which does not only require financial resources but also needs active participation and an institutional framework supported by belonging and attention, along with following up all details.

The Foundation carries out several initiatives, including:

Reduction of Waiting Lists: The Foundation adopts the initiative of reducing waiting lists since 2007. It bears all expenses and preparations necessary to carry out the maximum number of surgeries. It also takes the reasonability to renovate and equip full departments in hospitals and provide medical equipment and supplies due to the acute shortage in supplies, tools and equipment necessary for operations, along with training staff members running departments, including physicians and nurses.

Automation of Patients' Data: The automation covers all data, i.e. a patient's electronic file contains all reports from various departments, treatment steps and analysis and radiology results, which facilitates the diagnosis and treatment of cases in the light of introduced updates. The automation provides the hospital with full data and information on the patient distribution, the medical staff's role in treatment and medications and supplies released from warehouses, which gives a complete understanding on the case to supply an adequate stock of treatment needs. The automation saves time consumed by workers to search for huge volumes of files and records and usually do not include the entire data. Research centers can be contacted and treatment plans can be known via the automation, as well as providing full information on various medical cases. Therefore, the automation assists such centers in terms of examination and accurate diagnosis. WOTE is the first civil society institution works of the automation of university and public hospitals, as the Foundation understands advantages of the automation service, which assists in the scientific research and statistics.
